These two were behind us over the thick stuff that I shot while picking up decoys. I went right to the bird and picked it up.
Craig and I drove up to central Kansas near the Nebraska line to free lance for some geese. The first two days were on public ground where we had to hike in everything about 400 yards from the parking spot. Luckily for us, it was a milo field with LOTS of good cover. The first day we were able to hunt in a tall brush line and shoot birds coming in right to left, but the wind shifted the next day so we moved out into the field. It would have been more gear to carry, but a Roger’s LP blind would of been awesome in that field, but all we brought were our blankets.
We put out one cube of my decoys and two of his, so less than 400 decoys.
I was shooting a mix of Xpert WEX123BB and Federal WF140-1 out of a Trulock Skeet choke in a Benelli SBE 2

It was starting to get dark and cold here and I could tell my shooting wasn't as good this time of day. We thought these were the last group so I was half picked up when these birds came in and I had to run back and sorta lay down without a blanket or anything. You can't see it in the frame, but on the far right was a blue ross that Craig shot and is going on the wall. Craig and I drove up to c...

    anyone doing this job, my last bottom screw rounded out. So frustrating. Make sure you crack loose all the black round torx head bolts first [as I'm not doing with all future projects] that way you know you can get them loosened off before you strip or round off the torx bit. Think I realized why the last bolt always gets stripped, bc the materials to make the tools and the nuts n bolts suck, so the tools get worn and it's just enough that the cheap soft material is the nuts n bolts round off too. Hence, there's not a fkn problem. So aggravating. They should just make stuff right instead of skimpin. Cheap bastards. Trying for extreme profits effects other people's productivity.

      Same here :( less than 6 months old my gen 3, if I even heard a whisper of a new unit I would of waited... for me the zoom feature, i.e zoom OUT to see more of the shot composition would of been worth the upgrade alone! let alone all the excellent features. These cameras are NOT cheap, I cannot help but feel disappointed now :( I had to pay off my gen 3 over 6 months on CC. Do feel a little less love towards this product now. Especially as the cut into the actual footage (zoom in) taken on Gen 3 is so much leaving you always wanting to see more around the shot. I am sad.

      Yep. I've used it once so far and it is, it super quick and easy and that big cushion for your butt is great, really good for taking a nap on those slow hunts. Two things, the arm rests/side connectors have a sharp plastic side and WILL dig into the material, just think of all the times gear is piled on top, down bumpy roads, etc. Get some cheap pool noodles and cut rings to put over the ends to keep them off the fabric.

    • @Drundel
      @Drundel 2 роки тому

      3/4 of these were original and working fine, so say 13 years? The other was around 8 years old and working fine. I only replaced them as they were destroyed removing the axles; I had planned on just greasing them. And yes, I commented in the video that I pressed on the wrong area of the bearing. The kit I used did not have the right side to press on the outer edge of the bearing; I have since remedied that. I used the ATV this week while hunting and pulling a trailer through a rice field loaded with decoys and blinds. Bearing seem fine, hopefully they last 10 more years.
